Fish Creek Campground is the second largest campground in Glacier National Park, and one of two campgrounds that takes reservations. Glacier National Park, in northwestern Montana, is comprised of pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains and spectacular lakes. With over 700 miles of trails, Glacier is a hiker's paradise for visitors seeking wilderness and solitude. It also provides countless scenic vistas for those wishing to relax and take in its nautural beauty. The campground is located on the western side of the park at an elevation of nearly 3,500 feet; this area of the park generally receives the most rainfall. Daytime temperatures can exceed 90 degrees, although it is frequently 10 to 15 degrees cooler at higher elevations. Weather in the mountains can be varied, including snow in summer; visitors should come prepared for anything. |

Campers arriving after 8 p.m. will find their campsite assignment posted on the kiosk at the campground entrance; campers must confirm their registration by 8 a.m. the next morning Grizzly and black bears frequent the area; food storage regulations strictly enforced; when not in immediate use, all food, beverages, coolers, cooking utensils, pet food, or other attractants must be kept in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or secured in bear proof storage lockers near campground restrooms Vehicle and vehicle combinations longer than 21 feet or wider than 8 feet (including mirrors) are prohibited between the Sun Point parking area and Avalanche Campground Park entrance fee is separate from camping fee; $30 per vehicle, $15 for hiker or cyclist; valid for seven days No group camping in Fish Creek. Parties of nine or more may make reservations for the Apgar Campground Group Sites or at the St. Mary Campground. Campground length of stay is limited to 14 days. Generator hours for Fish Creek Campground: 8 a.m.-10 a.m., 12 p.m.-2 p.m., 5 p.m.-7 p.m. There are no generators allowed in Loop C It is the campers responsibility to be aware of all rules and regulations upon entry to the campgrounds. Glacier National Park Campground Rules and Regulations Campers making a reservation using an Inter-agency Senior Pass or Inter-agency Access Pass to get a camping discount will be required to show the pass upon arrival at the campground. The owner of the pass must be camping in the site to be entitled to the discount. Visitors with National Inter-agency Entrance and Glacier Annual Entrance passes do not get a discount on camping fees. These passes are for entrance fees only. Fish Creek is heavily forested with plenty of shade. Several sites have views of Lake McDonald. The park is named for its prominent glacier-carved terrain and remnant glaciers descended from the ice ages almost 10,000 years ago. Its diverse habitats are home to nearly 70 species of mammals including the grizzly bear, wolverine, gray wolf and lynx. Over 270 species of birds visit or reside in the park, including such varied species as harlequin ducks, dippers and golden eagles. |

This facility is conveniently located in the western part of the park, nearby many day hikes, including Rock Point Trail, which wanders through a burn area from a 2003 wildfire. Explorers of all ages can attend nightly ranger programs at an amphitheater within the facility. |
